On February 26, the Canadian Consulate in Vietnam announced the Canada Express Study  (CES) , a faster visa processing program for students attending the Association of Colleges and Schools in Canada (CICan). ) without submitting financial proof. The pilot program runs from 1 March 2016, lasting 18 months.

With the benefits and efficiency provided by CES, the program is officially extended and has not yet been announced. Program conditions remain the same.
Conditions for joining CES:
  • Admission to full-time study at one of the Association of Colleges and Schools in Canada. There is evidence of paying a one-year tuition fee at that school.
  • IELTS score of 5.0 (no skill below 4.5).
  • Purchase a $ 10,000 CAD (GIC) investment certificate from Scotiabank to pay for one year of study in Canada. Once a student has obtained a visa and has arrived at a Canadian school, it will be refunded to the student's Canadian account within the first 10 months for student living expenses (CAD 2,000 for the first month and CAD 800). for each subsequent month). The bank will refund 100% of this amount if the student fails to obtain a visa.
  • Must submit a visa application at least 60 days before the date of enrollment.
  • Students have a medical examination before applying for a visa a week.
Another good news for international students planning to study in Canada is that the number of colleges and universities participating in CES has grown from 45 to 55. Therefore, you will have more choices for your study plan in this beautiful country.

Advantages of CES
The main advantages of CES are:
  • Priority in the visa issuance process for applications at CES member schools (55 schools).
  • Financial records are more compact. The fact that students pay a one-year tuition fee before commencing their studies and purchasing the Investment Guarantee Certificate has replaced the complex financial proof form previously.
  • Visa processing time is quicker (about 2 weeks).
We hope this program will contribute to encourage more Vietnamese students to choose Canada and colleges as well as member institutions as learning destinations.
